‘You Monday’ at IMM

There are no sad faces around here at IMM!

The third Monday in January has previously been dubbed the most depressing day of the year.  However, IMM has flipped the switch on ‘Blue Monday’ and instead created our very own awareness day…

We had a delicious team buffet and made it a time for positivity and optimism to be enjoyed with colleagues.  IMM believes that health and wellbeing are key to protecting an organisation’s greatest asset… its people.

Blue Monday was a term first used in 2005 by a UK travel company, which said the third Monday of January was when happiness levels were at their lowest due to cold weather, festive period financial hangovers and when New Year’s resolutions start to fall by the wayside.

Dr Louise Slaney, IMM Medical Director, said: “It’s not always easy to embrace this time of the year but we can use it as a period of reflection and planning. We can use today as a day to focus on ourselves – our mental and physical health, our wellbeing, our careers and what we’d like 2025 to look like for us personally.

“With so much doom and gloom across the world, we should focus our attentions on what we can control rather than be pulled into a day when we’re told we should feel miserable.”

IMM offers an extensive range of occupational health services that can make a difference to the health, wellbeing and productivity of your staff. Our tailored health initiatives include lifestyle and wellness medicals, ensuring early detection of health conditions such as diabetes, cardiac disease, lung disease and certain types of cancer. These holistic services maximise wellbeing, while minimising health risks.
